Lighting controls should follow use. A meeting room may need scenes and local override; an open office may need scheduling plus perimeter daylight response; circulation may need an occupancy sequence. Define sensor coverage, hold time, manual override, default state and the person responsible for commissioning. A “dimmable” driver alone does not provide a usable controls strategy.

5. Commission and maintain the completed scheme

Before handover, test representative zones with normal furniture, blinds and monitors in place. Verify switching, dimming, occupancy response, daylight response, emergency interfaces and the as-left settings. Retain the lighting layout, module and driver schedule, control records, addressing information and replacement procedure. This makes later tenant changes and fault diagnosis more controlled.
